First time here. All dishes came out piping hot. My wife had the chicken fraternity and I could taste the butter. I had the chicken and sausage pomodori with a tomato basil flavor. Both were very tasty. Both dishes were plentiful with enough for tomorrow's meal.
Overview
Tucked away along 94-216 Farrington Hwy in Waipahu, HI 96797, lies a local gem that feels like a warm hug after a long day - Fratelli Express. From the first moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly baked pizza dough and sizzling garlic butter fills the air, promising a meal worth remembering. It’s the kind of place that blends comfort, quality, and genuine hospitality in a way that makes you want to stay just a little longer after the last bite.
On my first visit, I was greeted with the kind of friendliness that’s hard to fake. The staff chatted casually, made menu recommendations, and seemed to know exactly what first-timers like me would enjoy most. The layout is simple but cozy, perfect for a quick lunch or a laid-back dinner with friends. The energy inside is unpretentious - a mix of locals, families, and food lovers who clearly come here not just for convenience but for flavor that feels homemade.
The menu is an impressive mix of Italian-inspired comfort food and local favorites. Their pizzas come with a crisp, thin crust that crackles at the edges yet stays soft at the center - just the way it should be. The Margherita is a must-try, bursting with fresh basil and perfectly balanced sauce. But if you’re craving something heartier, the creamy Alfredo pasta and garlic shrimp linguine hit the spot with just the right richness. What stands out most is the freshness of the ingredients; nothing tastes mass-produced or rushed. Each dish has that small-batch quality that shows pride in the kitchen.
From a food reviewer’s perspective, consistency is one of the biggest indicators of quality, and Fratelli Express nails it. Over multiple visits, I’ve found that the flavors never waver - a sign of both skill and passion behind the scenes. According to the National Restaurant Association, nearly 70% of diners rank consistency as a top factor in returning to a restaurant, and this place clearly understands that. The chefs maintain a balance between authenticity and approachability, creating dishes that are flavorful yet familiar.
The reviews online mirror my own experience. Customers praise not only the food but also the attentive service and quick turnaround times - perfect for those grabbing lunch between errands. Some diners even mention that they’ve been regulars for years, which says a lot in an area filled with dining options. It’s easy to see why. The restaurant’s focus on genuine taste, generous portions, and value for money keeps people coming back.
While I’ve eaten at more upscale Italian spots across Oahu, few manage to combine casual dining with the depth of flavor you find here. The kitchen operates like a well-tuned machine, using fresh local produce and quality cheeses that elevate even the simplest dishes. A friend who’s a culinary instructor once told me that great pasta is about restraint - not over-saucing, not overcooking, just letting ingredients shine. Fratelli Express follows that principle beautifully.
If you love exploring local food scenes, this spot deserves a place on your list. It offers something more than just good eats - it gives a genuine sense of community. The location, right in the heart of Waipahu, makes it easy to find and even easier to fall in love with. Whether you’re picking up a quick takeout meal or settling in for dinner with family, it’s a space where flavor meets familiarity.
As someone who’s spent years writing about food, I’ve learned that the best restaurants aren’t always the fanciest - they’re the ones that care. Fratelli Express embodies that care in every detail, from the friendly staff to the perfectly seasoned sauces. It’s a reminder that good food doesn’t need to be complicated; it just needs to be made with heart. And here, every bite tells that story.

Great food. Very robust flavors. Take your pick you will be surprised. I ended up getting the Shrimp Portobello, Chicken Parmigiana, and Fish Basilio. For the price and quality you going to get the best bang for your buck. You will end up paying almost 30% more in price if you wanted to get something similar. Yet their flavor definitely tops a lot of other places. They also had a lot of interesting specials which will be next!
I’ve gotten take out for my family of 4 here several times already! The food is delicious! It used to be a Korean restaurant that I also ordered from, but I was happy to find out there’s a quick Italian place in Waipahu I can get food for my family now. It is located next door to Nanding’s bakery with the Spanish rolls. Anything with steak is so good here or as we say “Ono” or “broke da mout” :o) I list all the dishes I’ve ordered & will order again. I say just choose anything on the menu you might want & i can almost guarantee it will be good! Steak Basilio (my fave with steak cooked medium) New York steak pasta (so yumm) Chicken fratelli Linguine portabella, chicken Chicken piccata Chicken saltimbocca Seafood pasta I always try to order the chicken Marsala but they told me they don’t have it anymore
We were looking for a place that made meatball sandwiches and found this on google. I wish I took a picture of our food, but we devoured it so fast!! Delicious! Meatball sandwich and the mix plate of Chicken Alfredo and Lasagna!! Soooo tasty and fresh! We will definitely be going again.
Super ono Italian dishes at a reasonable price and the portions are huge. I love that they have combo plates, so you can try a couple of menu items. The owners are really friendly and have a great sense of humor and have made time to chat with us every time we dine-in. plenty of parking and they're B.Y.O.B.
I love having Italian food nearby! Everything we ordered was yummy (ravioli and fried ravioli)… but the marinara sauce could be better. Next time I’ll ask if it can be thicker, maybe with meat.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got the chance. The food was really good and the service was fast and friendly. We ate the combo of lasagna and chicken saltimboca and another combo of lasagna and chicken alfredo. Ate it all before I even thought about taking a picture to leave with a review.
Customer service was awesome. Workers were super nice and helpful. *Fried ravioli with that sauce was great. *shrimp cabanara (Alfredo with ham and onions) so ONO. * pink sauce (half Alfredo/half marinara) shrimp/chicken/spinach also GREAT. And price for the portions was great too.
